How to register to vote ahead of time

You can register and vote in Hennepin County if you are:
- at least 18 years old on the day of the election
- a citizen of the United States
- a resident of Minnesota for at least 20 days before the election
How to register to vote:
You can register to vote by mail or in person at the following locations:
- Hennepin County Government Center, 300 S 6th Street, Minneapolis
- all Hennepin County Service Centers (in Brookdale, Ridgedale, Southdale, and Maple Grove)
- all county libraries and City of Minneapolis libraries
- all city halls
- the Secretary of State's office
- you may also register to vote when you apply for or renew your driver's license
- you can also register to vote the day of the election

- Call the Hennepin County Elections Office at 612.348.5151 or
- go online to the Secretary of State's Voting Place locator - you can enter your address, or your municipality and the online database will tell you where to vote.
